When Jolene, of Creating Quite The Stir Event Planners, created a group on the Martha Stewart Dreamers into Doers with the purpose of meeting other members of the site, she wasn't sure what to expect. Three months and 29 members later, a trip to New York City is in the works!

Jolene has enlisted the help of fellow members Rachel Gaffney and Terry Grahl, and the trio is creating a Dreamers into Doers outing that will include a trip to see "The Martha Stewart Show," a tour of the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia offices, volunteering at a women's shelter, and much more. It should also be noted that Jolene, Rachel, and Terry are making this dream come true with the help of other members of Dreamers into Doers, and we're very grateful to everyone involved.

Dreaming Within Our Budget!

You're Planning The Special Event of a Lifetime? Dreams and visions are spinning through your mind and expectations abound?  Or, just could be that you've absolutely no idea where to begin with your dream event!  Meanwhile, in the midst of this lovely ethereal dream or hazy expectations, a mischievous familiar little voice on the right says..."Go Ahead, Splurge!  This is the biggest moment of your life!"  Conversely, the whimsical little voice on the left says..."Let's not be hasty, Save For A Rainy Day!" Quandary! Quandary NOT!  Truth To Tell? Dare follow these simple measures;
The most appropriate and bravest approach in planning your big day is  arming yourselves with the knowledge of  realistic budget limitations for your dream event!  This, altogether with your trusty satchel of dreams, and visions in mind, begin scouting about a bit for just the appropriate Event Planner!  Best advice?  Do strive toward seeking a competent and relaxed Event Planner with whom you'll feel comfortable and confident to be right there by your side every step of the way.  Together, from that moment on, the Event Planner and you, yes you,  will sculpt a dream event and memory of your lifetime... all within the comfort and confines of your budget, too!

Life In The Swift Lane

Some days...our lives are moving far too swiftly, Dears. And, let's face it! The constant barrage of demands and requests on our already limited time just may have you overwhelmed in any number of ways. What to do? What to do?

The first and best action you can do and pursue...is find a comfortable location and RELAX! Take a deep breath, that's right... inhale and a lovely long exhale! Feel a wee bit better? By now, you certainly know all the trigger points and muscles that tense or "act up" during stressful events. Focus on relaxing those areas. Next, try some gradual, gentle and slow stretches of the entire body...relaxing each muscle...this should help. We're strong advocates of a relaxing massage, too!

Remain steady and calm while intentionally clearing your mind of racing thoughts. Know and remind yourselves that you and you alone are capable of controlling your own thoughts. You are also fully able to control how you react to every incoming nuance and bombardment life sends us on a daily basis! With those empowering thoughts in mind, allow only peaceful images and feelings into your mind. Drift...drift...swirl...and slow dance in your mind's eye whilst expunging all thoughts for the moment!

Once you're feeling a bit more refreshed and relaxed, do take a peek at your lifestyle. We mean actually taking a closer look at your life, in total. What elements are absolutes or constants in your life? Well,... there is the Big C. The Big C is Commitment...Family, Career, School and Friends, which equals Lifestyle. And, unless you're planning a huge getaway, The Big C is not going anywhere anytime too soon. Then there's always The Big O. The Big O is Obligation...that's right the dreaded financial obligations inherent with life and even moreso, the good life you're living or striving towards. This is all together a part of our lifestyle! Don't want to forget the Big S which is Sharing and goes without saying, Giving Back in all areas where life has blessed us. Finally, yes,...the Big T factor, Time (which we never have enough of) and Temperance. Temperance is the Harmony, Balance and Health in our lives. Ahhhh, and you're reading this article right about now, because of the BIG T?! Right? What do all of these lovely elements of life add up to? COST. That's right, COST! What COST are you realistically willing, capable and able to expend and live with for peace of mind?

Pitting all these factors together,...assess and reassess...! Chart your own destiny! Literally and figuratively. Make a decision to begin a new day and a new YOU! Don't be discouraged if you can't get a grasp on many of the COST factors just yet, now...for as Rome was not built in a day, most likely you needn't expect changes in your life immediately.  Chances are...charting your own destiny may even be a bit emotionally painful.  But, you'll feel better, more relaxed and empowered to know that you're in charge and charting an approach tactic, to find more time and peace of mind for the future! Without our health, we simply have nothing. What better time than right now...today, the dawning of a new year...to begin anew, the maintaining or regaining of our own good health?

A little secret to let everyone in on?... So...2009, and darn you forgot to be good last year. It's not that you hadn't tried, truly. Some things just kept getting in the way...
TRUE THAT!
And with my usual joi de vivre, I shall say to that...
"This year is looking very optimistic for better behavior. And, one can always hope, non?".
How, dears, was your year?
Whatever the case may be, it's always a very good time to reflect on what you've learned from what you've experienced. It's even better to apply what you've learned in the past year to new experiences .
Remember where you are right now is where your past has brought you.
Having said that...NO baggage allowed on the trip onward! By saying no baggage, I'm saying it is important that you remember "today is the first day of the rest of your life". Cliche or not, tis the truth in entirety.
So whilst we begin another year anew? Inhale deeply... live learn and begin again!
